classical and modern dance (though it is not a dance class) and

movements within deeply held and challenging postures. BarreAmped

is the result of more than 10 years of physiological study and
client observations by one of America’s top fitness talents.
Why
BarreAmped?
Most barre
techniques in America have their roots in Lotte Berk Method, which
was brought to America by Lydia Bach in 1970. Suzanne Bowen,
creator of BarreAmped, logged thousands of hours working at Lotte
Berk Method Studios in New York City under the direct tutelage of
Bach and other master level instructors.Her understanding of and passion
for Lotte Berk Method secured her role as star of Lotte Berk
Method’s DVD series.
A second
generation barre instructor, Bowen therefore created an undiluted
form of barre work with a strong focus on form in order to get the
true benefits of using classic barre techniques.BarreAmped is not taught with a
strong pelvic tuck which is classic to other barre exercise
methods.BarreAmped instead teaches the
student to focus control on the “Core Base”, which is the pelvic
floor muscles and lower abdominal wall in order to maintain torso
control and a neutral spine. BarreAmped is a modern interpretation
of a classic method, which shaped the NYC elite for years.

Class Descriptions
This is an extreme fitness method founded on the technique of
dance, the mind body aspect of yoga, and the precision and core
integration of Pilates. BarreAmped produces lengthening and
chiseling results fast using small isolated holds with tiny
movements and tremendous mental connection. Expect an extreme
challenge and prepare to leave feeling calmly energized with
this hands on personal group training session. BarreAmped is a
great class if you are a new to barre.
Advanced
Follows the same format as our BarreAmped class, however
BarreAmped Advanced will challenge you with longer holds, deeper
positions, quicker transitions & advanced moves.BarreAmped Advanced is not
suitable for beginners.
FIRE
BarreAmped Fire is our
toughest class. It relies heavily on the client's proven
technique, flexibility & strength. Full range of motion moves,
quick transitions, elements of cardio and advanced dynamic
stretching. Prepare to Shake and Shake to Change! A minimum of at
least 10 BarreAmped classes is recommended before entering this
class.
Boot
Camp
BarreAmped Boot Camp
uses the classic foundation of BarreAmped combined with cardio
intervals. This program relies on high intensity interval
training, which has been proven to burn fat faster than sustained
endurance training, making it suitable for ALL fitness levels.
BarreAmped Boot Camp will shake up your workout! This class is the
most fun & effective way to burn fat, lose weight and change your
body.
EXTREME Cardio Boot Camp
Rev up your metabolism, torch calories & burn serious fat
with this Tabata style boot camp class which combines
classic BarreAmped exercises with short bursts of cardio; 20
seconds on, 10 seconds off for 4 minutes. As we say in
class, "You can do anything for 20 seconds!" This class
works every muscle & you will leave feeling worked and
refreshed. Please bring water & a towel...you will sweat!
+Yoga
BarreAmped is an extreme fitness method founded on the technique
of dance, the mind-body aspect of yoga, and the precision and core
integration of Pilates. This 75-minute class starts with barre &
ends with yoga.You WILL be challenged in this
class and walk away feeling calm & energized.
